Welcome back to my playground, my Lexual friends and fiends!
Last December, I asked John and Jackie Melfi of Openlove101.com and coletteclubs.com to join me for an episode all about open relationships!
This incredible duo, who identify as being in an open relationship, was interviewed by CNN’s Lisa Ling for an episode of “This is Life”, which, if you haven’t seen it yet, was a very unique glimpse into the world of swinging. That episode covered swingers during the Naughty in Nawlins swingers event this past year, and also included my friends Taara Rose and James of Sex Uninterrupted and Dr. Nancy Sutton Pierce, among other swingers whose lives have changed for the better by opening up their relationships.
Much in that same spirit, John and Jackie and I dive into what being in the lifestyle means to us, as individuals and within our own relationships. Jackie and I talk about how the swinging lifestyle has contributed to female empowerment and how we have evolved as women within the lifestyle. Both of us have been featured in ASN Lifestyle Magazine’s special edition of Influential Women of The Lifestyle, along with other inspirational femme fatales.
It was intriguing to hear Jackie speak about her experiences as a female swinger and how it’s quite contrary to what people outside the lifestyle think about women’s role within it. I’ve had similar experiences and misunderstandings with people whose minds are not open and who have pre-set and restrictive ways of thinking about female sexuality.
In this episode, we debunk myths about open relationships about who really takes the lead in sexual scenarios, and help prove that the swinging lifestyle isn’t all about sex.
We get personal and delve into John and Jackie’s relationship as they tell me about their first swinging experience!
We also offer some advice for newbies who have just opened up their relationships, or are about to start doing so, with tips on how to talk to your partner before going to a sex or swinger’s club for the first time, how to manage your and your partner’s expectations, and of course, what the hell to do when swinging goes wrong.
So if you want to know about what it’s really like to be in an open relationship and the swinging lifestyle, and want to know how you can start exploring and having pleasurable experiences with your partner while maintaining a healthy relationship, tune in to tonight’s episode!
